An interesting early map to show Singapore prominently, this map was added to the Munster Cosmographia when it was revamped after 1578, well after Munster's death.

The image of the elephant actually originates with Munster's earlier map of Ceylon. Because of confusion over the intent of Ptolemy's term "Taprobana," Sumatra is here presented as Taprobana and the elephant carried over with it.
